it is silent and its not supposed to be all silent...but given that the print itself IS LIKE ...AS FRESH AS THE DAY IT WAS MADE LOOKING, well, its still the jazz singer

i have found a few picture books with the behind the scenes and there are sooo many funny ha ha funny picture of AL..HE IS SO DARN REAL ...there is this one funny haha funny pic of him looking like "IM SO OVER THIS PICTURE" look in his face while the director is trying to get this picture moving..the photos the advertisements all of it is so precious so beautiful


there is the one with sound on Archives, it always brings me teary eye at the end ..always and always...cuz you hear him and his mother and his father speak and its just so darling....perhaps the silent version is a little bit more sensitive to us AL fans out there

i love both versions but i do prefer the talking picgture version just to see his dads friend with the cream beer catching him in the act performing and the creme is just sliding off the huge beer new york style IRISH PUB....OH THE Memories...I SOOO LOVE NEW YORK FOREVER AND EVER

This film is supposed to be a blend of talkie and silent. All the musical numbers have sound, the rest is silent.
